Mystery Dungeon[edit source]

Hello. I see both Mystery Dungeon wikis on FANDOOM point to Gamepedia, but the Gamepedia one says it's closed. I'm very curious about this situation. Can you explain how did FANDOOM agreed to close the wiki? How was this possible?. Thanks in advance! --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) 10:53, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

Which Fandom wikis? There were multiple. I had the Shiren and Explorers of Sky wikis closed. The Rescue Team one redirected to Gamepedia. When I had the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer wiki upgraded to a franchise wiki, we made a lot of Pokémon pages. A lot of the empty Shiren pages got put on the back burner because of the new workload. We've been constantly reformatting pages as we learn and grow as a team and project.
So I put in a closure request. I pointed out that the independent wiki was getting comparable views per month as the Fandom one. That the Fandom wiki had been abandoned since November 2020 and all edits were unmaintained and unmoderated. How edits did seemingly random things, such as replacing the media needed icon with a picture of a Ralts. I made note of how there were hundreds of basically empty pages that were never going to be cleaned up or reformatted. While on the independent wiki, we'd been doing such tasks for 9 months. I posted a picture of our Twitter account, showing that the community has followed us as well. I mentioned that the Fandom wiki was basically a detriment to both our sites and apparently, they seen it my way.

Side note. I see you're on the Spanish Pokémon wiki. My community has a work-in-progress Spanish Mystery Dungeon Wiki. We'd love to see it grow if there's any interest in the community. Korra II A Baskerville (talk) 16:20, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
Thanks! I was asking specifically for the Gamepedia one: https://mysterydungeon.gamepedia.com/ . You were very lucky. Our old wiki has been abandoned since more than 3 years, it's only updated by a guy that gets some small rewards for keeping it up to date (which he can't keep up, and it just translates contents copied from other sites). No other user has edited it for a very long time. I guess the traffic it gets to our old wiki is still very hight that makes it profitable with all those ads, which may not be the case for your old wiki. --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) 17:52, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
I don't think the ads had anything to do with it. I think it was all the messy and abandoned pages that did the site in. I tried to close the Fandom Two Worlds wiki and they brushed me off. I'll try again another time though. Korra II A Baskerville (talk) 18:05, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
