But, there are bad things about FANDOM and I know it. It's not the skin, FANDOM actually became SJW themselves thanks to PKMNLivesNew.
#They'll block anyone who says the word, "SJW" on their Community Central platform. So, it's not safe to talk there, anymore.
#*Speaking of which, I was blocked for a third time (indefinite) for violating Terms of Use '''''EVEN THOUGHT IT DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT SJW AND IT'S BULLSHIT!!!'''''
#Too many ads containing with SJW articles that are very idiotic.
#Where's the special pages tab?
#Mirahaze and maybe other MediaWikis websites are way better than FANDOM due to more control.
#Once again, I was blocked, forever, for a third time by saying the word, "SJW", which violates FANDOM's Term of Use even though it says nothing about the word, "SJW". I suspect that they blocked me for personal reasons.

== JJTA1211 ==

# Some of the internet trolls don't get blocked at all.
# The term "SJW" is forbidden.
# Discussions and message walls in some wikis can be chaotic, yet toxic.
# People in some wikis don't respect opinions at all.
# It's still full of mean people, corrupted admins, and social justice agenda.
# It is more restrictive than Miraheze.
# You cannot change your email address.

== Donutbandit ==
I still use it only on rare occasions, though I have stopped hosting the majority of my wikis there. These are my own reasons.
# I was (quite unfairly might I say) infamous for being the creator of the Thunder Series wiki which fell victim to vandalism and edit wars and deleted it for that reason. The wiki has since been moved to Shout Wiki with better protection measures in place.
# As an ex-editor of the Ginga Wiki, I am proud to be an ex-editor. The administrators had attacked me for simply having an opinion and for once having an ED article, the founder accused me of lying when I showed a screenshot of what one of the other administrators had done regarding my existence. Sadly, many other former editors will tell you that this kind of behavior is to be expected from them.
# I got mocked for making a wiki about "myself" even though I wasn't even mentioned anywhere in the wiki, it was a wiki about my story. Keep in mind many creators have made wikis about their own stories. I had since discovered that clowning on people for such a stupid reason is very common.
# Raids. So, so many raids.
# One of my favorite wikis was the Pokemon Essentials wiki which had gotten closed down by the Fandom staff in regards to Nintendo going crazy over the fact that they have fans supporting them and increasing their playerbase by making fan games. While the Essentials wiki has since moved to a new address, the response from Nintendo was very unprofessional. Fans only wanted to support them and all Nintendo did was drive them away.
# Depending on who the founder of a wiki may be or how well they can handle criticism, you can get banned for life from a wiki for no reason whatsoever. One example of this is the Five Nights at Wario's wiki.
# Encyclopedia Dramatica clones. Enough said!

=== Redeeming Qualities ===

# It is pretty easy to edit.
# Some of the good wikis.
# PKMNLivesNew has eventually got globally blocked on January 2019.

==JoJoFan1976==
# SocJus staff who delete anything that has “homophobic” or “transphobic” language even if used by antagonizing characters
# Founders who think they wholeheartedly entitled to everything.
# The founder and admins basically become figureheads.
# Deletion of Real Life Villains

===Redeeming Qualities===
#Fellow admins learn from the past to improve
#Got a user blocked globally for poor conduct.
# Some good friends

== Unorthodox-Seph (formerly Mayahzdog09/Hanjax70) ==
#It started going to shit after it rebranded to FANDOM. It was decent in 2012/2013ish when I joined.
#The community contains a bunch of toxic drama queens who start flame wars EVERY 5 MINUTES.
#They threw Trollpasta Wiki, Uncyclopedia, and Real Life Villains Wiki under the bus.
#It's basically forgotten what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be a place for fan-made communities and stuff like that, but it's now basically a Buzzfeed wannabe. When you get to the homepage it's just a bunch of pop-culture shit and other stuff like that.
#The staff is corrupt and can't take criticism.
#UCP. I actually left before UCP became mandatory, but the UCP design looks so fucking ugly and I'm so glad I left before then.

== Blubabluba9990 ==
#The new UCP update is horrible, as it impairs the editor and removes Chat, Forums, WikiActivity, and other things beloved by the userbase, among other things
#Whether it be the Monaco vs. Oasis controversy, the wikia.org vs. fandom.com controversy, or the Legacy vs. UCP controversy, one thing is for certain: FANDOM cares more about money than their community. I moved to Miraheze for that exact reason, because Miraheze is non-commercial and not-for-profit.
#FANDOM staff take forever to respond and are not very helpful. I tried to report that vandals were vandalizing my wiki, and they had bureaucrat powers (it’s a long story). Absolutely no help from staff whatsoever, and the wiki ended up being closed. They also constantly bombard users with the same reply: “Fill out a contact form”.
#FANDOM seems to hate any form of criticism, whether good or bad, which is why the Reception Wikis moved to Miraheze.
#The Community Central wiki is filled with FANDOM supremacists.
#*What is very interesting is that FANDOM staff actually recognizes the Anti-Wikia Alliance and has not, at least not to my knowledge, ever acted against the Anti-Wikia Alliance.
#Since I joined in 2019, I never got to see what FANDOM looked like with the Monaco skin. Since ShoutWiki uses it now, I must say it looks pretty darn cool and I can see why many users would miss it.
#Not only does FANDOM staff not listen to criticism, they also don’t give users a say in anything. The ToU even says, and I quote, “ The Company may terminate your account, delete your profile and any content or information that you have posted on the Services and/or prohibit you from using or accessing the Services for any reason, or no reason, at any time in its sole discretion, with or without notice.” There was actually once a case in which a staff member was accused of power abuse, and the above quote was mentioned as a justification.
#FANDOM staff are extremely secretive. Whenever a user is globally blocked, they refuse to reveal any information about why they were globally blocked or even the length of the global block. They also removed the real name, gender, location, occupation, birthdate, and favorite wikis section on user mastheads, as even more proof of their obsession with privacy.
#FANDOM staff outright admitted to manipulating Google search results to further traffic to their website.
#FANDOM staff are hypocritical too. They close down wikis that they visit beforehand and deem do not warrant closure, they act like they only intervene with ToU violations but other times they have been known to de-sysop users, which has a whole page here. And all this after they claim to have “a free and open wiki hosting environment”
#They seem to think that messaging users counts as harassment.
#Recently I have noticed that FANDOM has been disabling accounts for no apparent reason, as they did not close their account because closing an account there takes 30 days. I also found no proof of any of those users admitting to being underage.
#They are extremely left-wing biased. They claim that wiki founders do not own their wikis, and seem to treat female users better than male users, which is probably why Peachy4872 got away scot-free despite all of the harassment she commited.
#Because FANDOM is a company, there are a ton of ads all over the place which completely restrict viewing. Every time I open a page when I am not logged in, I get annoying pop-ups everywhere. Also, these ads can sometimes be inappropriate, and just completely out of context for the page you are viewing. Also, sometimes the pop ups have this fake x button, which is SO annoying.
#FANDOM staff are extremely stubborn. Apparently, according to Nathan Pirate, I just learned that FANDOM staff could have brought back Legacy and that they just didn’t want to, and that if they went deep enough they could fix all of the problems with Legacy. But they were stubborn and instead decided to force us all onto a terrible update that completely broke the site.
#FANDOM sells merchandise. Yup you heard that right. They have an editor of the month contest or something, and winners get a hoodie or something idk.
#FANDOM isn’t even community-oriented, at least not anymore. The main page is just a bunch of pop culture news.
#A lot of bad wikis, to name a few:
#*Encyclopedia SpongeBobia (2019-present)
#*ScumBob Wiki (2020-present)
#*SpongeBob Fanon Wiki
#*CBeebies Wiki
#*Numberlemon Wiki
#*SuperMarioLogan Wiki
#*PewDiePie Wiki
#*Fire Emblem Wiki
#*Villains Wiki
#*Phonicfriends Wiki
#*Learningblocks Wiki
#The new FandomDesktop skin is awful. The screen is completely scrunched up, search is a pop-up, the user profile links are now on the bottom left, and to top it all off, since the create page button was removed and redlinks no longer exist, the only way to create a page is to go into the URL.
#FANDOM caused my downfall. Long story short, I was constantly harassed by a bunch of users for petty reasons like me overreacting, and vandalized my wiki. I don’t care what the cause is, vandalism is '''''NEVER''''' okay. Then I basically went mad.
=== The ONLY Redeeming Quality ===
#There are a few decent wikis like Disney Wiki, Encyclopedia SpongeBobia (2007-2019), and ScumBob Wiki (2018-2020), even though the latter two went downhill.

== DuchessTheSponge (DuchessSponge5000) ==
# A lot of bad wikis such as Villains Wiki and Heroes Wiki being notable examples. Good FANDOM wikis these days are pretty rare nowadays.
# FANDOMDesktop and UCP are terrible skins with the desktop skin being the worst one out of all of them.
# They shut down good wikis for stupid reasons like Real Life Villains Wiki for example.
# They can't handle criticism whatsoever and would even lock your account if you try to criticize them.
# Too much ads everywhere and it can easily get annoying.

=== Redeeming Qualities ===
# It used to be good before 2018.
# Encyclopedia SpongeBobia and the One Punch Man Wiki are still good.

== TigerBlazer (Pigsonthewing) ==
=== Why I Rarely Visit There ===
# Rather than giving users the freedom to create any wiki they please that is within a reasonable policy, with edits having similar freedom, FANDOM seems to be very sensitive to anything negative at all. You cannot negatively criticize anything at all, even if it's very constructive and can be incredibly beneficial to a wiki or even the site itself. This essentially means that the site itself is incredibly pro-censorship to the extreme, closing wikis for some of the slightest things. This creates an environment where the staff are incredibly hard to communicate with when it comes to the site's issues and to an extent makes editing itself incredibly tense, as you might not know i the slightest bit of negativity noted in an edit or discussion will get you blocked.
#*
# The UI isn't really made to be a logical setup that makes navigating between pages and sub-pages easier for the user. Instead it's designed to have as many ads inserted into the pages as possible without sacrificing any navigation. This is an issue for a number of reasons.
#* This makes the advertising incredibly excessive and annoying. You can find about 5 ads at the very least per page, whether it's FANDOM created content for ads from other companies. Because of all of this advertising, pages will take a very long time to load properly on a lot of computers, and can even cause your browser to stop responding on an under-powered computer. These frequent ads will also cause your computer to run very slowly as a result even if it is a newer model.
#** Not to mention that the ads usually have nothing related to the wiki you are viewing.
#** On the right of desktop view, it will show the wiki's most visited pages, but about half the time these list of pages are blocked out by an ad for a bit, which can be infuriating.
#* Looking for the different sub-pages is now harder, as the links are reduced in size and are barely noticeable unless you are trying to look for them. Along with that some settings and links are changed into icons which can be a bit hard to identify, such as the recent changes one.
#* The FANDOMDesktop skin devotes more to linking to other FANDOM wikis or their own content rather than anything to the wiki itself, such is the case with the yellow sidebar on the left. In addition, the page look for the wiki you are on is much smaller and harder to read, due to the extended amount of ads placed with that skin.
#* On the subject of skins and layouts, you can only use the skin FANDOM gives you, and you don't have a variety of skin options to chose from with your wiki unlike ShoutWiki and Miraheze. This makes the FANDOMDesktop layout and the former UCP/Oasis skin even more infuriating.
# Their software is incredibly obsolete compared to Miraheze and Wikipedia, which both run on the most recent version of MediaWiki. Instead it runs on a heavily modified version of MediaWiki 1.33, which is over a year and a half outdated, and therefore it is not as functional as other wikis.
# The FANDOM app is incredibly pointless and does little in terms of function.
#* Somewhat unacceptable for an app about a wiki, you cannot edit pages at all on the app, all you can do is discuss on a page's discussion board. If you want to edit pages on mobile, you would have to go to the wiki on your mobile browser rather than use the app.
#* You can only easily navigate between specific wikis that are related to your "fandoms", such as Halo, Star Wars, Marvel, etc. If you wanted to search up other wikis to join you have to do painstaking work in the search bar to find your specific wiki, which is even worse when looking up a very niche wiki like the Wing Commander RPG wiki.
# While a lot of the wikis there are good, there are some really bad ones out there, such as:
#* Pooh's Adventures Wiki (Arguably the worst and most nonsensical wiki on this list)
#* Loud House Wiki
#* Geoshea's Lost Episodes Wiki
#* SML Wiki
#* The countless rip-off wikis of Uncyclopedia and ED, as well as Wikipedia knock-offs
#* FANDOM versions of the QP reception wikis
#* Muppets Wiki
# FANDOM rarely ever does changes based on a community standpoint or do community votes for what they would like to see next, but rather does a change based on what will get them more money. The end result of this is that it leads to many frustrated users leaving the platform due to being unhappy with the unpopular changes that were made and move on to a different wiki hosting platform.
#The admins and moderators of the site are not very helpful and are also hypocritical and abuse their powers often.
#* Most of the time they won't be much help at all, as they usually never explain why a user was blocked or sometimes don't even reply at all to your questions.
#* Rather than focusing on the grand scheme of things and working with the community, it almost feels like they are against what the userbase wants and agrees on. Well done edits are often reverted because they don't agree with them and once in a blue moon a user can be blocked for no reason whatsoever. Even worse is that they will block you for saying very minor things, such as saying specific terms, showing how anti-free speech they are.
#* Usually the lower moderators never get any punishment for doing morally wrong actions and are free to continue doing what they were doing before, and only rarely do they lose their rights.
#* They have also been shown to have little sympathy with the userbase. For example, if a user is discovered to be underage, they lock the account entirely rather than blocking it until the user turns 13 in order to comply with the COPPA policy. As another good example, even if a user was blocked unfairly and backs up evidence to why they should be unblocked and it was a wrong move, the account will usually not get unblocked anyway.
#Despite having a very anti-negative criticism point of view, some wikis are allowed to stay anyway despite that. A good example is ScumBob Wiki, a good wiki focused on criticizing bad episodes of the TV show ''SpongeBob SquarePants''. This is a form of negative criticism, and to make matters even ore suspicious, other wikis such as the original Crappy Games Wiki were shut down despite being similar in terms of content, which is really odd.

== LuaGunsX ==
Wikia, or what they now call "FANDOM" or some shit sucks ass in my opinion. I'll give you a list below.

* 1: It's a goddamn watered down version of MediaWiki.
* 2: There are pedophiles on there, and one of their wikis are up. (Geoshea)
* 3: The theme is confusing.

There are also even worse Wikia sites, I will list below.

* Creepypasta Wiki
* Geoshea's Lost Episode Creepypasta Wiki
* Russian Anti-Screamers Wiki (They shutdown the Screamer Wiki for explict descriptions, but the russian anti screamers wiki has it too)

== Pigsonthewing ==

=== Redeeming Qualities ===
# There are a lot of great wikis there, such as:
#* Bootleg Games Wiki
#* Doom Wiki
#* Wing Commander Wiki (Despite the huge lack of edits nowadays)
#* Ideas Wiki
#* Bluey Wiki
#* Logopedia
# It is the largest wiki farm out there, so it's very easy to meet a lot of cool new people and get help from other users. The community for the most part is very nice despite the site's bureaucracy. The Ultra-Mind from the FANDOM version of Ultima Wiki is a good example of a good user on the platform.
# The ads can easily be stopped by turning on an ad-blocker, which makes loading pages and navigating between them much easier and as a result makes editing a lot more enjoyable than with the constant ads being on.
# Unlike ShoutWiki and Miraheze, you can edit you comments there.

[[User:Pigsonthewing|Pigsonthewing]] ([[User talk:Pigsonthewing|talk]]) 16:58, 2 February 2022 (UTC)"

The change was done allegedly because there were lots of user pages with broken links and templates. Ciencia Al Poder (maintainer of WikiDex outside of wikia) offered hosting for the Spanish wiki of Super Smash Bros. (SmashPedia), and one of the admins of SmashPedia created a blog post announcing this, and seeking consensus whether to fork or not.

A bot account of FalconX Zero (former vstf member) was commenting on that Blog, because the main account was disabled without user consent as a retaliation for leaving wikia because of the fork of WikiDex. In a few hours, the 6 messages of that account were '''removed, and completely revdeleted and suppressed''': The log displayed 6 deleted entries, but gave no information about ''what'' was deleted nor ''who'' was performing the deletion.

One user of SmashPedia found those logs in RecentChanges, made a screenshot of it, uploaded the screenshot to another wiki, and [http://es.smashbros.wikia.com/wiki/Hilo:87131 posted a message to one of the admins] of SmashPedia about that. The screenshot did not disclose any private information, just the deleted entries on the log already censored.

Several hours later, the '''file was removed [http://es.la-mano-del-diablo.wikia.com/index.php?title=Especial%3ARegistro&page=Archivo%3ADiablo_editions.PNG without leaving any logs about its deletion]'''. According to other user, a tool called COPPATool was used to delete the image. This tool was designed to delete the image without leaving any public logs about that, and make impossible to restore the file, and as the name suggest, the purpose is to deal with images that violate the COPPA law. Clearly, not the issue here. It was an '''abuse of a tool not meant to be used for this purpose''', just to hide who's deleting that file (censorship).

In fact, the entire wiki where the image was posted (es.la-mano-del-diablo) was deleted, and restored again 1h later after someone claimed for it through Special:Contact.

One of the comments of the blog, which supported the fork, [http://es.smashbros.wikia.com/index.php?diff=219188 was edited (censored) removing one of the paragraphs] where he told how wikia would make the fork more difficult. The edit is apparently made by the same user that posted the comment, but the user assures he didn't edited the comment. Staff has a tool called "Piggyback" that allows a Staff to log-in into another user account without knowing the password. The purpose of the tool is to assist in scripts/CSS/Preferences problems, but not for editing or performing actions as another user (impersonation). A characteristic of this tool is that when a Staff uses it, the affected account gets logged-out automatically, and the user confirms he was logged-out when that message was edited. This means, '''a staff edited a message (censored it) impersonating another user''', to hide his own edits. To prevent more messages about this user, the user was also globally banned.

User Ciencia Al Poder was aware of that and suspected of Staff Luchofigo85. Ciencia [http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:1474971 posted a message on the community central forum] asking for clarification on how it was possible to delete the image without leaving logs, and the issue about impersonation. Luckily, another user which knows about those tools suggested the (ab)use of those tools as the possible cause. In parallel, [http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:1474991 a message was posted on Jenburton's messag wall], pointing to that forum, and asking to stop this abuse of staff tools. Both the forum thread and the message wall thread were censored and closed, not allowing any other reply. There was [http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Board_Thread:Support_Requests_-_Getting_Technical/@comment-13301-20180702202254/@comment-36068568-20180703161324?oldid=2529471 a reply to the forum rebutting all what Staff said], but it was also removed/censored by Luchofigo.

Ciencia Al Poder also [http://es.smashbros.wikia.com/index.php?diff=219227 asked on the original thread on SmashPedia that alerted of the censorship], to not reupload the same image again (or at least not under the same name) to prevent people to misinterpret what the logs would say. '''This message was removed (censored) by Luchofigo85 as well''', and Ciencia Al Poder account has been disabled.

A user posting [https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Board_Thread:Support_Requests_-_Getting_Technical/@comment-13301-20180702202254/@comment-36068568-20180703161324?diff=2529471 publicly a summary of those events] had its account disabled.

=== Closure of Uncyclopedia ===
In February 2019, FANDOM announced it would be closing all Uncyclopedia sites hosted on its platform. The following message was spammed across every Wikia-hosted Uncyclopedia by Staff:

:A message from Fandom

:This is a very difficult post to write. As you may know, I have been a big fan of Uncyclopedia and its sister projects for a long time. I used to be very active on the English version, to the point of being made an admin. I have written three featured articles and created four featured images. It's a place I’ve loved to spend time.

:Unfortunately times have moved on, and there are aspects of the wikis that have become increasingly a problem over the years. We've always given you a lot of leeway, despite many pages being outside our Terms of Use. And it's not just random bad images and articles, but some of the genuine content that should be on this wiki, but not on Fandom. We’ve ignored these things for years, but we need to really improve the acceptability of content on the site. So we are looking again at the content, and have decided that it’s not the sort of thing that we want to host anymore.

:Trying to clean up this wiki would be impossible, and would involve deleting valid (but problem) articles. That simply isn't possible.

:Of course you have options, and we want to help this change go smoothly. If there is a fork in your language, you may want to talk them about merging in. We can provide a database dump of all articles created here, or you could be more selective taking only the best new articles. Or you could go to alternative hosting there are many available]. I can't recommend one, but I know that a few wikis in a similar situation have gone to Miraheze.

:We can't provide a dump of the images for copyright reasons - what's likely fair use here would be violating the original copyright if provided in a data dump. But you may be able to use sometihing like https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Exporting_all_the_files_of_a_wiki to help.

:Again, I'm sorry this is happening, and will help as much as possible to make this a smooth transition. -- Sannse [staff] (help forum | blog) 26. 2. 2019, 17:25 (UTC) <ref>https://necyklopedie.org/wiki/Necyklopedie:Pod_Parou#A_message_from_Fandom is one archived example; this was spammed across every Uncyclopedia by Wikia staff, Feb 2019.</ref>

Despite the very clear and public announcement that Uncyclopedia was being forced to leave FANDOM, they conveniently decided to [https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/Nigel_Scribbler block users] for posting "[https://uncyclopedia.ca Uncyclopedia has moved]" anyways.

===Overriding community decision-making on Wookieepedia===
Fandom casually interfered with a community discussion on Wookieepedia and reversed several blocks implemented by local wiki administrators, many of who were veterans with many years of tenure.
